As of the 2000 census, the city population was 33,714, while 2006 estimates place the population over 92,000. Frisco has been and continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. SUMMER TOWN HALL MEETING TO BE HELD MONDAY JULY 21
SUMMER TOWN HALL MEETING TO BE HELD MONDAY, JULY 21;  
Road Construction, Budget Outlook and New Frisco Assistant Code Team on Agenda     

(July 10, 2008) Road construction, the city’s budget outlook and a new program to help identify neighborhood code violations are among the ‘hot topics’ at Frisco’s summertime Town Hall on July 21.  

The meeting will be held in the City Hall council chambers of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard.  The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and wraps up at 9 p.m.  Residents who attend the Town Hall meeting will receive a free Frisco grocery tote.

Learn how you can become a volunteer member of the new Frisco Assistant Code Team or FACT.  The new program is designed to assist city code enforcement officers while preserving property values, discouraging crime, promoting thriving neighborhoods and increasing community pride.

On the topic of Frisco’s budget outlook, city staff will discuss efforts to reduce expenses and call for citizen’s suggestions.   City staff will also give progress reports on local road construction and improvement projects.

If gas prices have you debating summer travel plans, consider a Frisco ‘Staycation’.  The Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau will share all sorts of ideas for summer fun throughout our community.  In fact, one Frisco ‘Staycation’ spot making a big splash is the Frisco Athletic Center (FAC) and its Outdoor Water Park, complete with slides, chutes and a ‘lazy river’.    Parks and Recreation Department staff will brief residents on all fun fitness happenings, inside and out, at the FAC.

ALL STARS AVENUE CLOSED FOR RECONSTRUCTION BEGINNING JULY 9
(July 9, 2008) Beginning today, All Stars Avenue (formerly CR 712) will be closed between Frisco Street and North County Road for reconstruction.  The existing asphalt roadway will be reconstructed as a concrete roadway with additional lanes and lighting.

The roadway will remain open to local traffic from the Burlington Northern Railroad to North County Road.  This section can be used to access the businesses on All Stars that are east of the railroad.

The reconstruction is scheduled to be complete by January 2009.  Motorists can use First Street and North County as alternate routes during the reconstruction.
